It's confirmed. Raja Petra will be held under ISA for the next 2 years and his habeas corpus application was rejected. I am not surprised that Raja Petra was arrested. Let's face it…. the Malaysian government is a HYPOCRITE. The Malaysian Government says that Malaysia is a democratic country but what's the point of labeling 'Democracy' to Malaysia when nobody has the full right of Freedom of Speech?

Every country has laws and I think the Internal Security Act (ISA) is bullshit and are for pussies. Why is the Malaysian Government so afraid of Raja Petra? If he did something wrong, make a lawsuit and allow him a fair trial. If they think that Raja Petra is a threat to the country, why don't they just oust him to another country?! I am sure that many other developed countries would be more than happy to have Raja Petra as their citizen.

We should be proud that Raja Petra is brave enough to put out the clear-cut facts with no censorship. We should have more people like Raja Petra. Arresting *controversial* bloggers is ok but denying him the right to a fair trial is totally ridiculous.

In my opinion, Pak Lah is one of the dumbest and slowest Prime Ministers in the world. Pak Lah should retire at once and let someone else lead the country.

Last week, my mum told me that one of her friends profited RM 20 K per year with ASB and this made excited! I immediately went to the computer and searched for "Amanah Saham Bumiputera". I found the official info page. I was shocked when I say that the dividends per year averaged at 8 cents per unit (or 8% interest). So, A few days ago, I've opened up an ASB account and deposited some money I wished I had knew about it earlier!

After depositing some cash into my ASB account, I decided to put some money in a fixed deposit account at a bank. I did some reading at Forum.Lowyat.net and at the time I was reading it, CIMB Bank had the highest interest rate. I opened up an account with CIMB and went to EON Bank to withdraw my money but something interesting happened. The interest rates at EON Bank was higher than CIMB! I decided to go home (without withdrawing anymore cash) and do some research again on the net.

After a few hours of reading in various forums and websites, I stumbled upon BSN's (Bank Simpanan Nasional) web site. I looked around to see their fixed deposit interest rates but I couldn't find it! I did a quick search at Forum.Lowyat.net and finally I came across AKAUN PELABURAN AM-i MUDHARABAH. And guess what… their fixed deposit interest rates are way higher than any other banks in Malaysia! I'll be closing my EON Bank account somewhere around next week and will be opening fixed deposit account at BSN

Here's a quote from BSN's web site about "Akaun Pelaburan Am-I Mudharabah:

AKAUN PELABURAN AM-i MUDHARABAH

Akaun simpanan pelaburan (fixed deposit) yang berlandaskan syariah.

Pelaburan dalam bentuk sijil.

Deposit dengan cek atau wang tunai.

Kadar Keuntungan : (16.07.2008 – 15.08.2008)
1 bulan : 3.45%
3 bulan : 3.50%
6 bulan : 3.72%
9 bulan : 3.85%
12 bulan : 4.08%
15 bulan : 4.18%
18 bulan : 4.26%
24 bulan : 4.38%
36 bulan : 4.40%
48 bulan : 4.45%
60 bulan ke atas : 4.55%

Syarat-syarat Pembukaan Akaun

Individu berumur 15 tahun ke atas, Organisasi, Jabatan Kerajaan, Badan Berkanun, Syarikat Swasta, Pertubuhan, Kelab, Persatuan dan lain-lain.

Tempoh pelaburan 1,3,6,9,12,15,18,24,,36,48 dan 60 bulan.

Minimum RM1,000.00 bagi tempoh 1 bulan.

Minimum RM500 bagi tempoh 3 bulan dan ke atas.

Akaun Pelaburan Am-i Mudharabah diberi dalam bentuk sijil.

Interesting Stuff

ASB dividends are higher than ASN, ASN 2, ASN 3, ASG, ASW 2020, ASM, ASD

If the economy is not good, ASNB redirects some of the profits to ASB to make sure Bumiputera's profit more

Government controlled banks (such as Bank Simpanan Nasional) offers better incentives than other private and commercial banks.

It is nice to see the government trying to help all the Bumiputera's but do they really deserve it? Why the non-bumi's have to work their ass off to do something but the bumi's can get everything so easily?! This is unfair and in my opinion, against the human rights! Even though I am a bumi, I still think that it is very very unfair to the non-bumis. All the talk about the sacred Tanah Melayu is full of crap. Each and every race in Malaysia worked hard for independence and built the nation's economy from scratch… everyone should have equal rights.

Let's see whether Anwar Ibrahim can do something about this

This is old news but since I just created this blog yesterday, I'll go ahead and vent out some things regarding the recent Avril Lavigne Concert Controversy. For those of you who don't know what happened, here's what happened:

PAS Youth of Federal Territory called a ban towards the Avril Lavigne Concert

Ministry of Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage denies concert permit

Ministry of Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage gives the green-light for the concert to go on

PAS Youth says that Avril Lavigne is too sexy and the concert must not go on because it is not respectful to the coming month Ramadhan. This is total bullshit! This is just another 'political move' by PAS. If they are worried that the people will be influenced by Avril's punk rock style, why don't they just ban Muslims from going the concert instead of banning the concert altogether? This shows that PAS as a whole is very narrow-minded and jealous. Yes…. jealous! Maybe they wanted to go to the concert but if the Barisan Nasional were to find out about it, then BN could use it as a knife towards them In my opinion, PAS should be banned and not Avril Lavigne!

The Ministry of Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage says no to the concert after PAS voice out their opinions and not long after that, the Ministry of Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage then changed their minds to permit the concert to go on. PAS did say that they will bring thousands of 'Muslim' (Muslim just according to the MyKAD or Muslim by practice? I don't know….!!?) and this may have made the Ministry of Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage to ban the concert but what they don't realize is that if the concert was banned, HUNDRED THOUSANDS of people will do a demonstration at Putrajaya. So maybe after realizing that, the the Ministry of Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage decided to let the concert to take place.

Banning a concert will not improve the lives of the people and will also definitely not prevent a moral downgrade of society.

A MESSAGE to ALL POLITICAL PARTIES in Malaysia (Especially UMNO, BN & PAS): Fix yourselves FIRST before 'trying' to fix the rakyat!

Here are some articles that would 'definitely' be of interest to you:
